BIRATNAGAR: Police arrested a woman, who was on the run after being fined for over Rs 30 million, for her involvement in illegal foreign currency transaction from Belbari in Morang, on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip off, a regional investigation team arrested Thir Kumari Basnet of Belbari-3 in Morang from her house yesterday, police said.

The Kathmandu District Court had convicted Basnet of the crime on September 30, 2005 and fined her Rs 30.4 million.

The Morang District Court has sent her into prison in Biratnagar, on Wednesday.
