Fund crunch hits Nepal Scouts hard
Bhadrapur, September 17 :
Severe financial crisis is affecting the work of Nepal Scouts, according to speakers at a meeting of the Nepal Scouts, Jhapa district office.
The funds crunch is barring Nepal Scouts from expanding its social and humanitarian-related activities, they said.
The activities of organisation also could not gain momentum as various other organisations affiliated to it have not shown serious interest in minimising the conflict, violence and lawlessness in the country through their activities, the speakers said.
Inaugurating the meeting, Deputy Chief District Officer, Murari Raj Sharma, said the organisation should be financially sound given its greater role and responsibilities in the changed political context of the country.
Speaking from the chair, District Education Officer Baburam Poudyal said resources will be made available for the expansion of the acitivies of the organisation.
An estimated budget of Rs 11,6200 for the fiscal year 2006-2007 was presented in the meeting.
