Rautahat, January 29:

A gang of robbers yesterday night shot dead Mohan Shah Kanu (30) and injured his father Nanipat Shah Kanu at Mahmadpur VDC of Rautahat district.

Shah died on the spot and his father seriously injured when the gang of eight to 10 robbers opened fire at them when they tried to protest the robbery. The robbers have looted valuables worth Rs 50,000 from Shah’s house. They also manhandled other members of the family. Nanipat is being treated at Garuda based health centre. The police are searching the robbers, area police office, Garuda, said.
