Kavre, October 25:

An armed group of three claiming to be Maoists raided a gambling den being operated at the house of Gopal Shrestha in Banepa Municipality-8 on Monday night. The group made away with Rs 2 lakhs, some jewellery and few mobile phone sets.

The group threatened to kill the people present there if they made any noise, the victims said. They also looted two gold chains, one ring, watches and mobile sets from the people present there. The group beat up four persons during the looting spree. Meanwhile, local Maoist leadership has refused to take responsibility of the incident saying the Maoists have no intention of looting people.
