Geta Medical College not far away: Dahal

Dhangadhi, August 27

CPN-Maoist Centre Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal today claimed that no force could stop the construction of Geta Medical College, which is being constructed in Dhangadhi, Kailali.

“Earlier, infrastructure development of the medical college could not pick up pace due to various technical reasons. During my premiership, I tried my best to speed up its construction work. Now, the construction work is going smoothly and it cannot be stopped by anyone,” said Dahal. He also said timely construction of the project was a must as it would contribute to overall development of the region. CPN-MC Chair Dahal also sought help from the public and authorities concerned for the timely completion of the project.

Executive Director of Infrastructure Development Committee Hem Raj Pujara briefed Dahal about the progress in construction of the facility. College, hospital and administrative buildings were being constructed in the first phase, said Pujara.

“The contractor company agreed to expedite construction of the administrative building after we started the process of taking action against the company for delayed construction work,” said Pujara. He said the project would be completed within two-and-a-half years so that they could launch medical services and run MBBS classes from fiscal 2019-20.

CPN-MC leaders Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Ram Bahadur Thapa, among others, also took stock of  the ongoing construction work today.
