Govt against constitution, says KC

Gaighat, September 10

Nepali Congress central member Arjun Narsingh KC today accused the incumbent government of working against the constitution and democracy.

At a programme held in Gaighat today, KC said the government’s flawed and erroneous polices had put federalism and democracy in peril. He accused Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli of seizing all powers at the centre instead of delegating authority to the provinces and local levels.

KC accused Oli of trying to impose authoritarianism in the guise of democracy. He said since the government was mired in corruption and taking kickbacks in the form of commission, good governance was not possible from the government and the ruling party.

He pointed out poverty, inequality, corruption were the major challenges of the country. “The government is shying away from its responsibility by blaming the heads of some opposition leaders.”
