‘Government has failed in many ways’

This government that commands two-thirds majority in the Parliament failed to control corruption, violence against women and inflation. There is a lot of anger and frustration against the government in society. The entire country demanded that the government arrest those responsible for the rape and murder of Nirmala Panta but even after seven months, the government remains clueless about the culprit(s).

This government gives slogan of happiness and prosperity but as long as people of the country suffer discrimination and as long as their identity is not respected, the goals of happiness and prosperity cannot be achieved. The government has not fulfilled our demands related to constitution amendment, withdrawal of false cases slapped on our party leaders and cadres. Our party lawmaker Resham Chaudhary, who led the political movement, is being kept in jail unfairly.

Overall, the government is failing. Neither it has been able to control corruption, nor has it been able to ensure rule of law. It does not have will and does not know how to address these things. People are feeling insecure. Laws are being formulated against the spirit of the constitution. Bills related to government employee adjustment and police administration are some examples of this. The government has failed to form and strengthen institutions as per the spirit of federalism.  Everything has been politicised.
