Government initiating homework to address demands of agitating groups
KATHMANDU: The government is said to be initiating homework to address the demands of agitating the United Democratic Madhesi Front.
A reliable source said that the talks team coordinated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa is scheduled to hold discussions, with Prime Minister, High-Level Political Coordination Committee (HLPCC) and the political parties joining the government, on making fruitful and effective of the meeting to be held with the agitating front in the Capital on Sunday.
Ram Janam Chaudhary, coordinator of the talks team and minister without portfolio, said that a meeting would be held with main opposition political parties and the political parties joining the government in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to address the demands of the agitating groups including amendment to some articles of the new constitution.
He also said that consultations would be held with UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on the matter. Dahal is also coordinator of the HLPCC.
