Govt to provide Rs 50,000 to replace thatched roofs

Dhankuta, April 17

The central government will be offering Rs 50,000 to each of the 350 marginalised families to replace their thatched roofs under the government’s People Residential Programme in Dhankuta.

The government decided to provide Rs 50,000 to buy zinc sheets and subsidised wood.

Mayor Chintan Tamang of Dhankuta Municipality said the grant wile be given to 350 marginalised families of seven local levels in the district.

The Safe Resident Coordination Committee will provide the amount to replace thatched roofs.

District Coordination Committee Coordination Officer Tirtha Prasad Dhital said ten wards of Dhankuta Municipality, Pakhribas Municipality’s Wards 5, 7 and 8, Mahalaxmi Municipality’s Wards 4, 5 and 6, Chaubise Rural Municipality’s Wards 2, 3 and 5, all six wards of Chhathar Rural Municipality, Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality’s Wards 7 and 8 and Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality’s wards 2, 3, 5 and 6 have been selected for the grant.
