Govt not serious about holding polls: Rabindra Adhikari

POKHARA: Chairman of the Development Committee of Parliament and CPN-UML leader Rabindra Adhikari accused the incumbent government of not being serious about holding polls.

“Elections are a must to implement the Constitution,” he said during a press conference organised in his hometown, Pokhara on Sunday.

The government has said that that it would hold civic polls by mid-April, but the calendar to hold the polls has not been made public yet, he further said.

“There is a provision that the calendar should be submitted to the Election Commission eight months before the polls. Seven months have already been passed; but the calendar has not been made public yet,” Adhikari said.
