‘Govt has survived plots’

Ramechhap, May 18

CPN-UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel today rued the conspiracies being hatched against the government.

Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Chautari Nepal, Ramechhap chapter, the UML leader said, “Ever since the government took shape it has faced many plots but let me say here that the government has survived those dirty plans and will not buckle so easily.”

Further, describing all governments till date as myadi (time-bound), Pokharel held that the prime ministerial post was not so cheap as to occupy and quit whenever others wanted.

“As consensus government is today’s necessity for implementation of the statute, we are happy to see anyone from the Congress or the Maoist party in the government so long as the government is formed with broad consensus among political stakeholders,” the leader reasoned.

Pokharel suggested that the solution to the Madhes crisis be sought through dialogue. Also seeking all parties’ support in holding local elections at the earliest, he conceded that rampant corruption was gripping the country, but said the government would curb it.

Pokharel was in Manthali to impart training to the senior leaders of the party.
