Govt to bring all children into school system by this academic year

MAHENDRANAGAR, DHANUSHA: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel has said that federalism has not come to the students those remaining out of the school education system.

At an interaction programme organised by Jay Govinda Saha Study Centre in coordination with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology in Janakpur on Thursday, Minister Pokharel argued that federalism has not offered any benefit to 60,000 plus students who are obliged to remain out of school system in the country.

Sharing that such a large number of students were still out of schools despite the repeated enrolment campaigns, Minister Pokharel pronounced that the children should be brought into the school by this academic year.

He added that the second round of student enrolment campaign would complete by mid-September and the plans are being made to announce Nepal as the fully literate country next year by launching the signature campaign.

On the occasion, Minister Pokharel asked the local governments to run enrolment campaign to implement the compulsory education as per the constitutional provision.

Minister Pokharel shared that the government was doing homework to establish a technical school in each local government and stressed for accessible and simplified technical education.
