Grade XII board exams from tomorrow

BHAKTAPUR: The board examination of Grade 12 starts tomorrow across the country. The exam is scheduled to start at 7:00 am.

Similarly, Grade 11 board exams will begin from May 12 and preparations towards that end have been completed, said National Examination Board’s controller of the examination, Krishna Prasad Sharma.

A total of 428,052 students will be sitting for Grade 12 exams to conclude on May 9 while as many as 508,494 students will appear for the final tests of Grade 11 to conclude on May 21. The total number of students for both exams is 936,546 including regular, partial and grade improvement).

The highest number of students in both exams are from Kathmandu district: 71,527 for Grade 11 and 62,588 for Grade 12. The Board has managed 1,107 centres across the nation and Kathmandu has the maximum of 122 centres, while Manag and Mustang have one centre each, Board Member-Secretary Durga Aryal informed.

Special arrangements have been made for students with hearing deficiency, visual impairment, physical or intellectual disabilities.

The Board has put all the exam centres under the surveillance of CCTV security system for the credibility of question papers.

Centre superintendents are not allowed to carry mobile phones while transporting question papers from a room within the police cordon to exam halls. Besides, a system has been developed to receive information about examinations across the country.

A total of 34,490 people have been mobilised for conducting the exams.
