Hail damage put at Rs 4.6m
Pokhara, November 15:
Hailstones damaged crops and fruits worth Rs 46 lakhs in Kaski district last week, according to the District Agriculture Office.
Crop protection officer at the office Dhan Bahadur Rana today said that the hail damaged paddy
worth Rs 20 lakhs, vegetables and fruits worth Rs 17 lakhs and millet worth
Rs nine lakh planted in 1,316 hectares of land in the district. The damage was high in Hemja, Lamachaur, Sarangkot, Sildajure and areas within the Pokhara city Before the hail, it was projected that paddy production in the district could rise by 10 per cent.
