TAPLEJUNG: The hailstone that occurred on Monday evening has destroyed winter crops and fruits at dozens of several VDCs in the district.

According to Rabindra Bahadur Pradhan, chief of the District Agriculture Development Office Ambegudin, Sinam, Limbudin, Telchowk, Hampang, Changey, Sanghu, Khokling, Khamlung VDCs including Taplejung Municipality.

The hailstone destroyed crops including maize, mustard and wheat, fruits such as oranges, and vegetables including cucumber, pumpkins, among others.

The detail of the loss is yet to be collected, Pradhan added.
