Hashish worth Rs 10 mln seized from Makawanpur

HETAUNDA: Police seized nearly three quintal hashish from a house in Aagra village of Makawanpur district on Sunday morning.

The 292 kg contraband was being unloaded from a minitruck (Na 4 Kha 4862) at the house of Raju Thing in Aagra-1 of the district.

The confiscated drug costs around Rs 10.22 million in the current market, according to police.

Smugglers and the house owner Thing, however, fled the scene after noticing the police team, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, the Mid-Regional Police Office, Hetaunda and Area Police Post, Palung had deployed a team to confiscate the drug.

DSP Shishu Sharma of the Makawanpur District Police Office said police also impounded the vehicle from the scene.
