DAMAULI, JANUARY 12
A police constable stationed at Belchautara Area Police Office of Suklagandaki Municipality, Tanahun, was caught red-handed while receiving Rs 10,000 bribe money today.
A team deployed from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority Regional Office, Pokhara, arrested head constable Shanti Bhandari while she was taking the bribe.
Bhandari was working at the Women and Children Service Centre.
Bhandari was caught-red handed with bribe money, said CIAA Pokhara Office’s Information Officer Meghnath Rijal.
The anti-graft team had nabbed Bhandari while she was taking money for helping free a detainee. Bhandari has been taken to Pokhara.
“A lot of complaints were filed against head constable Bhandari and she was detained with the bribe money today,” said a source at the CIAA Pokhara Office.
