Health centre padlocked

Janakpurdham, September 4:

Local residents padlocked a Primary Health Centre in Deuri Parawaha of Dhanusha district today, to protest the absence of health workers in the centre. A joint team of health centre management committee and the locals had found only a peon present in the centre. The centre has quotas for a doctor, a health assistant, an Assistant Health Worker, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife and other staffers.

“We padlocked the centre after the District Public Health Office, Dhanusha ignored our complaints about the irregularities in the centre,” a local, Sanjaya Kumar Misra said.
