The construction of Sanwakatahare Health Post building in Khotehang Rural Municipality-3, Khotang, is yet to be completed even though the contract expired one year ago.

Kathmandu-based Mainachuli Kalika JV was awarded the contract to construct the health post building for Rs 12.89 million about five years ago.

CPN-UML central member Shyam Rai accused the contractor of delaying completion of the building. The project is being developed by Urban Development and Building Construction Department, Division Office, Udayapur.

“Though the contractor was frequently prodded to complete the project, it hasn’t happened, apparently due to negligence,” Rai said, adding that works related to wiring and finishing remain.

Engineer at Udayapur division office Bhupal Magar said the project was nearing completion. “The company is working by extending the contract and the project is likely to be completed in a month’s time,” he added.
