Health workers obstruct works in Jumla

JUMLA: Employees at the District Public Health Office Jumla have not reported to regular work, in protest against not getting allowance for the field work they performed for over 16 days.

As many as 49 health workers have reported the matter to Chief District Officer Dipendra Raj Poudel, expecting to take initiations regarding their demands. CDO Poudel has reported it to the regional office and the Ministry for Health in this regard, it is learnt.

However, the District Public Health Office Chief Baidya Nath Jha said that the problem was common across the country. He added that there was no clear provision regarding the allowance and that they were facing budget crunch to distribute the allowance as well.
