High Court upholds lower court’s order

Biratnagar, August 16

The High Court of Biratnagar, Morang, has upheld the order of the Morang District Court to keep in judicial custody three of the accused in the smuggling of 33.5 kg of gold and in the murder of gold carrier Sanam Shakya.

Earlier, 30 of the accused in the case had filed a writ petition at the High Court seeking annulment of the district court order that they be kept  in judicial custody.

After hearing on the writ petition today, the High Court of Biratnagar upheld the district court’s order to investigate the case by keeping Punya Prasad Lama, Sanbir Prasad Tolange and Rajan Kumar in judicial custody.
