Hindu state to be addressed : DPM
ITAHARI: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Sujata Koirala said that the demand for the Hindu state has to be incorporated in the new constitution.
Addressing the concluding ceremony of a 10-day-long Health Penance Camp organised by Shree Ramanandacharya Sewapith in Chataradham in Sunsari, she said, "Over 85 per cent of the population are Hindus.
Constitution written ignoring the feelings of the majority will trigger catastrophe in the country," adding, "Constitution framed without encompassing the grievances and agenda of Hindus would be futile and meaningless".
The DPM, however, declined to comment on other political matters as she was participating in a religious function. She also assured of all possible support and initiatives for the all round development of the Chatara region.
Expressing that Nepal had infinite possibility of natural herbs, she complimented the initiatives taken by Chataradham locals for the cause of the public health. She also donated Rs 101,101 in the name of her father and Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala.
Culture Minister Minendra Rijal also donated Rs 25,000 to the health camp in the name of his late father and mother.
According to organisers, some 7 thousands patients received treatment at the camp.
Meanwhile, flood victims of Sunsari also submitted a 6-page-long memorandum to the DPM demanding rule of law and establishment of various commissions enshrined in the Interim Constitution.
Sujata worships buffalo to ward off evil
ITAHARI: An astrologer at the Chataradham today suggested Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala that she needs to fast on Saturdays to avoid bad omen. Koirala also asked the astrologer to write an incantation for her.
Astrologer Madhusudhan Rijal has said that Koirala has good fortune for one and half year more.
He added that she will have more chances of visiting foreign countries. Koirala also worshipped the buffalo. Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had also visited and worshipped the buffalo as per the astrologer's suggestion, ten days ago.
Meanwhile, Culture Minister Dr Minendra Rijal worshipped a cow to avoid bad omen. The astrologer said that he could gain more popularity in the future and suggested him to take care of his health.
Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC and CPN-ML leader CP Mainali also did not miss the opportunity to get information from the astrologer.
