Nar Bahadur Budhathoki and his family of Kasuri Suri-4 Dolakha are a worried lot. Faces of Budhathoki, 45, his wife Devimaya Budhathoki, 35, daughter Manjura, 9, eight-year-old son Niral, and six-month-old Mandira are covered with fur. Lack of money for treatment has only added to their woes. Only two out of their five children do not have this hirsuteness problem. The three children have hair even on their backs. Devimaya said they were born like that. Budhathoki rued he could not take his children for treatment as he has no money.

Devimaya said she was the one who had a face covered with hair when she was born. Doctors at the Dolakha-based Gaurishankar hospital suggested that she go to Kathmandu for hair removal. Her children Manjura and Niraj are second and first-graders at the Khare School. Their teacher Bharal Acharya said their hirsuteness has been creating a problem in their schooling also.
