HLPM task force to seek parties' support
KATHMANDU: The three-party task force of the High Level Political Mechanism today reached an understanding to garner the support of respective parties and to remove all suspicions about the HLPM.
Today’s meeting, held at the CPN-UML headquarters in Balkhu, agreed to do the needful within the three main political parties to get a strong support from each, said Krishna Prasad Sitaula, a member of the task force. The meeting discussed about the Terms of Reference for the HLPM and decided to finalise the same in its next meeting. The task force is mandated to draft the ToR and to set criteria for inducting other parties. “Since the ToR is the tool to tackle contentious issues, it will be prepared with care,” said Bharat Mohan Adhikari of the CPN-UML, another task force member. Narayan Kaji Shrestha ‘Prakash’, UCPN-Maoist representative in the task force, said a number of sub-committees are required to assist the HLPM and discussions were going on for the same.
