OKHALDHUNGA:  Security officials from District Police Office Okhaldhunga destroyed 750 litres of illicit liquor, which was being brought for sale at weekly fairs in the district headquarters on Wednesday.

A police team  deployed from various police posts had seized the hooch as part of their drive to curb illegal trading in such items, informed District Police  Office.

“Besides the hooch, around 30 litres of raw substances used to  prepare the beverage was also seized  and destroyed,” said DSP Dipendra Sah.

Security personnel have  intensified their campaign against trading in local alcoholic beverages at Nishaikhe and Ghorakhori, among other places of the district, of late.
