Hostel to be built for hearing-impaired kids
Damauli, November 17
The foundation stone of a hostel building meant for hearing-impaired students was laid at Buddha Dahal Primary School of Byas Municipality, Tanahun today.
Deaf Ways Expectations UK group leader Mista Grake laid the stone amid a function and said they had planned to establish the structure in order to boost the right to education of all hearing-impaired.
He said construction of the hostel building would pave the way for the bright future of such children.
The structure will be built with the joint effort of locals and Pokhara-based Pahara Trust at an estimated cost of six million rupees.
On the occasion, Assistant District Education Officer Surya Bahadur Chhetri, Association of Deaf Tanahun Chairman Kiran Shrestha and Recede Tanahun Chairman Madan Poudel shed light on the importance of the structure in enhancing the future of hearing-impaired students.
According to sources, the school is all set to upgrade from primary to secondary level. Earlier, the school was closed due to student crunch.
