HAN offering 20 per cent discount on food to tourists

KATHMANDU: Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) has announced a 20 per cent discount on food to tourists at its member hotels on the occasion of World Tourism Day.

HAN General Secretary Binayak Shah said the discount is being provided to make the stay of foreign visitors in Nepal pleasant and to promote tourism in context of the World Tourism Day. According to him, the discount applies only on food, especially Nepali indigenous cuisines, as the tourists have already booked hotel rooms.

The discount coupons would be issued to foreign tourists from HAN’s counter at Tribhuvan International Airport. Tourists arriving in Nepal on September 27, from the first flight to the last, would be served the discount coupons, marking the World Tourism Day.

HAN has stated that these coupons would be valid for September 28 and 29, and the discount offer would be available in HAN member hotels throughout the country. There are around 2,000 hotels across the country which are members of HAN.

Meanwhile, arrangements have been made to provide discount on various tourism services in Thamel, the tourist hub in Kathmandu, coinciding with the World Tourism Day.

The Thamel Tourism Development Council has declared a 20 per cent discount on night-time services to tourists in Thamel on the occasion. The Council is also organising a street festival, informed Sameer Gurung, President of the Council.
