House probe panel suggested

KATHMANDU: Ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Binda Pandey on Thursday suggested that a parliamentary probe committee be formed to look into Nimala Panta’s rape and murder incident.

Opposition lawmakers had previously demanded establishment of such a panel in the House of Representatives. But Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has remained silent on this issue.

“Kanchanpur incident has become mysterious. So, we have to form a parliamentary probe committee,” said Pandey, adding, “The government should come up with a plan to minimise criminal activities in the country.”
