House to deliberate bill on facilities to former office-bearers

KATHMANDU: The Legislature-Parliament on Tuesday endorsed a proposal to hold deliberations on a bill on provision of facilities to the former office-bearers.

The bill, prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs, was tabled at the House by Law Minister Ajaya Shankar Nayak on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bimalendra Nidhi.

Minister Nayak said the bill will be revised and laws to manage the facilities will be taking enacted taking into consideration the capacity of state coffers.

The bill has proposed providing monthly pension, security and other facilities to Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Prime Ministers, House Speakers, chairpersons of National Assembly and the Chief Justices of Supreme Court.
