Huge hurdles on the road to economic development: Minister Adhikari

POKHARA: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari has remarked that the government must tackle big challenges to reform the economy from a sorry state and to trudge it on the paths of prosperity.

Interacting at a press conference in Pokhara on Saturday, Minister Adhikari said that the state coffers are empty and concurrent plans cannot be implemented without Rs 1000 billion financial aid from various donor agencies.

"We are facing an economic crisis and in the meantime we have to conquer goals of economic development and prosperity," Minister Adhikari said, "We need opposition's support to maintain people's faith in government."

Implementation of federal system is incurring huge expenses and public offices must cut back on expenses, curb corruption and unethical practices to ensure good governance, Adhikari added.

According to Minister Adhikari, opposition and citizens must point out faults of the government every day rather than waiting for elections.
