I am a political yogi, says PM Oli

Jhapa, August 22

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today said that he was a political ascetic (yogi).

Speaking at a civic felicitation programme organised by Gauradaha Municipality to felicitate him in Jhapa, Oli stated that he did not have any goal of amassing wealth from politics. He said that his one and only goal was to work for people and the country.

Noting that his government had a vision for the country’s development and prosperity, Oli said he was committed to the campaign of making the country prosperous and modern.

“I do not have to make money. I have got the opportunity to work for national development, so I will take up the challenge and prove myself. A yogi has no intention of making money and I am a political ascetic,” Oli added. Oli stressed the need to modernise agriculture and cultivate all barren fields.

The municipality had organised the civic felicitation saying that it had got a prime minister from its constituency with the vision for development and prosperity of the country.

Provincial Assembly member and Province 1 Minister for Internal Affairs and Law Hikmat Karki was also felicitated at the programme.

Oli inaugurated the 50-bed Ayurvedic Hospital at Kamal Rural Municipality in Jhapa today.
