Ignoring Dalits will prove costly, says NC-D veep

Birgunj, November 24:

Vice-president of the Nepali Congress-Democratic Prakash Man Singh warned today that a rebellion could erupt again if Dalits and other backward communities continued to remain ignored.

Problems of backward communities should be addressed for the effective implementation of the peace treaty, he said.

Speaking at a membership distribution programme of the NC-D at Chhapkaiya in Birgunj, Singh warned that a rebellion could erupt if Dalits and other backward communities continued to be ignored. Calling on the government and the Maoists to implement the treaty, Singh said the signing of the accord has fired hopes for a new Nepal.
