Illegal clinic sealed, other shops given warning

A market monitoring team deployed from District Administration Office today sealed a clinic adjacent to the district hospital and district health office that was operating without registration in Udayapur.

The monitoring team along with representatives from the Ministry of Supplies and the Department of Supply Management and consumers welfare conservation found that Parbati Pathology was being operated without registration. The team then sealed the illegal clinic.

Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli said the market monitoring team also seized date-expired medicines and destroyed them.

“We have directed District Health Office, Udayapur to take further action,” he informed. It is said that clinic operator Phulendra Kumar Yadav fled during investigation. The team said the clinic had been in operation for the past five years without even keeping a signboard.

Similarly, a market monitoring team led by Assistant CDO Pradi Jung Karki, section officer duo Shreeram Bhatta and Subash Chapagain, including representatives from security department, agriculture development, public health, livestock service office and mediapersons, among others, monitored shops in the municipal areas.

The team destroyed outdated materials seized from different shops and directed the owners to follow the basic criteria for operating shops.
