BAITADI: Landslides caused by the incessant rainfall at Gokuleshwor-1 in Darchula district has obstructed the vehicular movement along the Mahakali Highway since Tuesday morning.

Boulders and rocks have been spread out from Satbanjha of Baitadi to Gokuleshwor-1 of Darchula along the highway, police said.

Passengers have been stranded after vehicles heading to and from Baitadi got stuck midway due to the obstruction.

DSP Mohan Prasad Pokharel said that the road would be cleared only after rainfall stops. According to him,  continuous rainfall has caused problems to the efforts to clear debris.

Earlier, the traffic along the highway had resumed four days of obstruction due to landslides at several places in Baitadi and Darchula.
