Increasing no of people falling sick due to intense heat

MAHOTTARI: The number of people coming to health centres with heat-related health complications has increased all of sudden in Mahottari, along with the intense heat since the past few days.

According to the District Health Office in Mahottari, temperature has been recorded between 38 to 41 degree centigrade since the past week, leading to transmission of various heat-related diseases.

The District Hospital in Mahottari has been receiving 250 to 300 patients every day with heat-related complications, medical officer at the hospital Dr Rajiv Shah said. Fever, typhoid, diarrhoea and vomiting, pneumonia, jaundice and viral fevers have been the primary diseases that the people are coming for treatment to the health centres in the district.

Not only children and the elderly, but adults as well as those not working too have been suffering from the intense heat brought about by the steady rise in the mercury level.
