India ratifies pact with Nepal on legal issues
Kathmandu, August 6:
The Indian Cabinet meeting has cleared an agreement signed with Nepal on providing mutual legal assistance in criminal matters. “The cabinet approved the agreement on mutual legal assistance on criminal matters and also for ratifying it,” Indian Information and Broadcasting Minister Jaipal Reddy said day before yesterday after a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The agreement, Reddy said, provides for effective cooperation between the two countries in investigation, prosecution and suppression of crime, a news report said.
