Indian aid will continue: Envoy

Kapilvastu, November 2:

Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee said today that India is continuing to assist Nepal in the education, health and development sectors. He was speaking after the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the proposed Gautam Buddha Higher Secondary School in Jaynagar VDC 8 of Kapilvastu district. He added that India desired nothing better than a developed Nepal.

Central member of the Nepali Congress and former minister Deep Kumar Upadhyaya, local development officer Damodar Bhandari and assistant chief district officer Him Nath Dawadi urged the ambassador to draw his government’s attention for the development of education, health, development and tourism sectors in the district.

The school will be built with the Indian assistance of Rs 2.78 crore. The school will have 38 classrooms, six laboratories and a hostel. Construction of the school will be completed in 18 months.
