Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri today underscored the role of quality education in producing skilled human resources.

Speaking at a programme held to lay the foundation of the Indian government-funded building of Narad Adarsha Shikshya Campus in Basaha in Udayapur’s Chaudandi today, Puri stressed the need for improving the quality of education for the country’s prosperity.

“We’ve started investing in the construction of campus building. We want to see good students produced from here in future,” Puri said. The Indian envoy also took the opportunity to express gratitude to ex-Indian Gurkha soldiers present at the venue for their role in protecting Indian territories.

“As they’ve served India by making sacrifices when and where needed, they deserve a special recognition,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion, former urban development minister Narayan Khadka dwelt on the contribution of India to democracy and development in Nepal. “We can never forget India’s contribution,” he said. The building is being constructed at the cost of Rs 29 million provided by the Indian government.
