RAJBIRAJ: An Indian national died after consuming excessive amount of alcohol in Belhi Chapena Rural Municipality-3 of Saptari district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Raj Kumar Yadav (55)of Kuiriban, Madhubani in Bihar, the northeastern state of India.

According to police, Yadav accompanied by Bidreshwar Sahani (42) consumed alcohol while they had come to Nepal to purchase rice from local grocer Bhola Yadav yesterday.

Police presumed that Yadav might have collapsed after taking excessive amount of alcohol.

The body of the deceased has been kept at the Rajbiraj-based Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital for postmortem.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
