Indian man indicted on kidnapping charge in Pokhara

POKHARA: An Indian national, who was arrested from Lekhanath Municipality of Kaski district last week in possession of a pistol, has been indicted on a kidnapping charge.

Police said they had arrested the 25-year-old Shahbuddin Kusheri from Gorakhpur of India, who is currently residing at Nayabazar in Pokhara-9, last Monday.

Police charged that he had kidnapped Khursil Ahmed aka Sonu from Pokhara and had demanded Rs 10 million from Ahmed's brother.

The Indian youth was held with a pistol from Sisuwa, Lekhanath in the district, where he had held the victim hostage, police informed.

Meanwhile, Arun Ghale of Kawasoti, Nawalparasi district has also been nabbed for acting as an accomplice in the crime.

Further investigation is underway, Kaski District Police Office added.
