BIRGUNJ: Indian Police on Thursday night arrested five persons on charge of stealing 20 kilolitre diesel from a Nepal-bound tanker.

A team of security personnel deployed from the Ramgarhwa Police Post nabbed Indian nationals Baleshwor Sahani, Dina Sahani, Upendra Kumar Yadav, Basu Sahani and Pradeep Sahani on the same night.

The tanker (Na 4 Kha 3152) was heading to Birgunj from Barauni of India while it was robbed by them.

The alleged thieves were nabbed from Motihari of Bihar.

Police also impounded the tanker and seized the fuel from them.

According to the law enforcement personnel, the suspects have confessed the crime.
