Indian pilgrim returning from Muktinath dies

POKHARA: An Indian man, who was returning after a pilgrimage to the Muktinath Temple in Mustang of south-western Nepal, died after falling unconscious, police said.

The deceased has been identified as 65-year-old Fenka Tash Barar [name transcribed] of Andhra Pradesh. He was with a group of pilgrims.

Barar was rushed to a nearby hospital after he passed out yesterday, police said. He, however, was pronounced dead at around 5:45 pm.

Muktinath is one of the popular destinations for domestic as well as Indian pilgrims and other foreign tourists.

Preparations are being made to bring his body to Pokhara from the mountain district for autopsy.

The Pokhara-based Western Regional Police Office said they are looking into the case.
