Indian security officials committed to cooperating in Banke's poll security arrangement

NEPALGUNJ, BANKE: A team led by Banke Chief District Officer (CDO) Rabi Lal Pantha on Saturday discussed with Indian border security officials about the security arrangement for the May 14 local level elections in Nepal.

The discussion that took place in a bordering area of Bhagauda in Banke focused on poll-concerned security cooperation between security agencies of the both countries along the border, said CDO Pantha.

The security personnel team had reached the area as part of a security arrangement for the elections.

CDO Pantha said that his team had asked the Indian border security officials for their cooperation for which they got their commitment regarding the poll security arrangement.

District Police Chief Tek Prasad Rai, Lieutenant Colonel Bishworaj Koirala, election officers Madhav Sharma and Surendra Poudel were also present in the team.

Likewise, the team also took stock of security arrangement and preparations for the polls in the areas of  Sonari and Narainapur rural municipalities from the election officer and police beat chief.
