Indian teen released, suspected abductors held

LAHAN: Nepal Police released an Indian teenager, who was reportedly abducted on April 5 for ransom, from a house in Lahan Municipality-15 of Siraha district on Tuesday morning.

The person has been identified as Pradeep Kumar Yadav (16) of Nirmali in the Indian state of Bihar.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team deployed from Sagarmatha Zonal Police Office and Lahan Area Police Office raided Ramesh Lama's house in Betaha, where Yadav was held hostage, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hira Bahadur Pandey at Lahan Police Post.

Four suspects -- Ramesh Lama, Jayaram Yadav, Kishun Yadav and Deep Narayan Yadav from Siraha — have been arrested.

They had reportedly demanded money from the 16-year-old boy's father in Bihar for his safe release.

Yadav will be handed over to his family after necessary investigation, police said.
