Inferno guts 30 houses in Dhorpatan Municipality

GALKOT: As many as thirty houses were destroyed in a fire that broke out early this morning in Nawi village of Dhorpatan Municipality-1 in Baglung district.

The fire that started at around 2:00 am was brought under control six hours later at 8:00 am, according to local resident Indra Shahi, personnel from the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve and the Nepali Army Hanumandwaj Battalion worked together to put out the fire.

No human casualty was reported as the residents had vacated their home due to the increasing cold and shifted to the lower belt of Bobang and other places.

After the collective effort of army personnel and reserve officials, the fire was stopped from spreading to the forest.

The extent of the damaged caused by the fire will only be ascertained after the house owners arrive.
