Israel keen to help Nepal modernise agriculture : Ambassador Mayer

DAMAK: Israel's Ambassador to Nepal, Yaron Mayer, on Thursday, said the Israeli government was keen on extending support to help farmers in Nepal tap into the latest agricultural technologies.

Speaking at a function held at Maharanijhoda of Gauradaha Municipality in Jhapa today, Ambassador Mayer noted that 500 Nepali youth were given an annual agricultural training in Israel so as to promote Nepal's agriculture.

He added that employment opportunities could be created in abundance if they could use the skills that they learned in Israel.

The Israeli envoy also shared his belief that Nepal could earn unbounded profit through modernisation of the agricultural sector.

On the occasion, former minister Agni Kharel called the farmers to use modern farming equipment and tools to reap huge profits in their own villages.
