Issue of dengue raised in Province 3 assembly

The issue of dengue outbreak was raised at the meeting of the Provincial Assembly of Province 3.

An emergency proposal of public importance related to dengue was tabled in the PA meeting today.

Ruling Nepal Communist Party Chief Whip Rameswor Phuyal registered the proposal in the PA. Opposition party Nepali Congress Chief Whip Radha Ghale and NCP’s Kanchan Khanal seconded the proposal.

Airing their views on the dengue issue, Provincial lawmakers asked the provincial government to take initiatives to control dengue. They stressed the need to formulate right polices to check the disease.

Answering lawmakers’ questions, Province Minister of Social Development Yubaraj Dulal said the government was working to check dengue in collaboration with the local levels. “The government has launched a search and destroy campaign and the province government is heading the drive,” Dulal added.

Minister Dulal informed that as many as 2,010 people were infected with dengue in Province 3.
