Jajarkot accident victims identified

Jajarkot, February 15

All four persons who died in the yesterday’s bus accident in Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot, have been identified.

Nine persons were injured in the accident that took place after a bus heading for Rukum’s Radi Bazaar from Nepalgunj veered off the road and fell into the Bheri River near Rimna of Bheri Municipality.

According to Inspector Kekhav Karki at District Police Office, Jajarkot, the victims have been identified as Man Bahadur Bohora of Jagadulla Rural Municipality and Lal Bahadur BK of Tripurasundari Municipality in Dolpa and Hari Bahadur Rawat and Sagar Bhandari of Banke’s Khajura. Lal Bahadur Thapa of Athbiskot-13 and Bharat Chand of Athbiskot-11, Rukum, who were seriously injured in the accident were taken to Nepalgunj for treatment.

Similarly, another injured Bibash Bohora of Nalgad-5, Jajarkot, who got his arm fractured and received injuries to his back, was also sent to Nepalgunj today for further treatment, police said.

While five other injured, including driver Mohan Rana of Salyan, are undergoing treatment at the Jajarkot Hospital, one of the injured has already returned home following treatment.

Chief District Officer Lalit Basnet said the government would bear all the treatment expenses of the injured.

According to the injured, the accident took place following brake failure.
