Jajarkot parties send names of contestants

Jajarkot, May 2

Nomination of candidates in the upcoming local elections concluded peacefully in Jajarkot today.

The district comprises three municipalities and four rural municipalities. As for the Nepali Congress, nominations of Sanat Kumar Karki and Dhana Kumari Chapai have been filed for the posts of mayor and deputy mayor from Bheri Municipality, and Chhabi Panta and Dhanamaya Shahi from Tribeni Nalgad Municipality. Similarly, nominations of Ratna Bahadur Khadka and Reshma Shahi have been registered for the first and second post respectively from Chhedagada Municipality.

According to Information Officer Shatish Jung Shah of the District Election Office, nominations of Mahendra Bahadur Shah,

Khadka BC, Sarparaj Rawat and Harishchandra Basnet have been filed for the post of chairperson from Barekot, Shivalaya, Junichande and Kushe rural municipalities respectively.

“Likewise, Kalu Jyoti, Gita Kumari Shahi, Tulasidevi Basnet and Ramchhaya Shahi are the candidates whose nominations were registered for the post of deputy mayor from these rural municipalities respectively,” he informed.

With respect to CPN-UML, Chandra Prakash Gharti, Nabendra Nepali and Lal Bahadur Mahatara have been nominated as mayoral candidates for Bheri, Tribeni and Chhedagad municipalities respectively. Bhawana Bhandari, Sunita Bohora and Sarita Oli have been registered for the post of deputy mayor for the municipalities.

Bhim Bahadur Singh, Gita Singh, Narendra Shahi, Kumari Thapa, Bed Bahadur Shahi and Amba Shah have been nominated for the post of chairperson and vice chairpersons from rural municipalities.

From CPN-MC, Dhakbir Rana, Tek Bahadur Rawal and Chandra Bahadur Thapa are the mayoral candidates nominated from the municipalities. Krishna Sharma, Bal Kumari Basnet and Dharmashila Basnet have been nominated for the post of deputy mayors. Tilak Rawat and Uma Shahi, Janakraj Gautam and Ambika Basnet, Krishna Bahadur KC and Shiva Acharya, and Lal Bahadur Thapa and Laxmi KC are the candidates nominated for the post of chairperson and vice-chairpersons from rural municipalities for the CPN-MC.
