Jante youths suffer silently as youth brigades go berserk

Biratnagar, December 7:

Nearly 300 displaced youths of Morang Jante have not been able to go back home since the past four days. This is the fourth consecutive day the Young Communist League cadres have threatened the people of Jante area , locals said.

Unable to endure the YCL atrocities, the youths of Jante had to desert their homes and take refuge in the neighbouring VDCs — Letang, Pathari, Urlabari, Bebari including Biratnagar.

Weddings scheduled for today were also cancelled due to the YCL mayhem. While Jivan Ghimire, a member of the four-member probe committee led by assistant chief district

officer Keshav Pudasaini at a press conference today, announced his resignation from the probe committee.

He said that he had to resign after the lower strata of the party failed to implement the decision of the higher level. An all-party meeting was convened at the district administration office today soon after the resignation of the CPN-UML member, Jivan Ghimire.
